Regarding litters and health updates

We get quite a few inquiries about whether there will be a litter of puppies with us again soon. The answer is no. We have applied to SKK regarding our wish to make an outcross litter. The application was sent this summer. We have not received any response yet. SKK had a meeting in September, but then had not received a response from the breed club or SBK and therefore our application was postponed. We will not take any more litters within the stud book and thus we will be completely dependent on what others think and decide. It is of course much easier to continue inbreeding, then we don’t have to ask anyone for permission. In the long run, we realize that it will be completely impossible to have to ask permission for every combination that we want to do, thus it looks like we have come to the end of the road.

In addition to the fact that no more litters will be born with us under the current conditions, our last litter has been evaluated with X-rays. All are free on hips and elbows. Some have done MH and more will do, probably in spring. We also got one more from the H-litter evaluated with MH. All health results that we are aware about is updated and you can find them under Health. We are very thankful to all the owners for keeping their promises to us <3
Gard has been awarded the title of Korad, first he got a very nice evaluation regarding his exterior, then he scored an incredibly nice MT with 225 points. Earlier this summer he passed his MH and showed that he is a social, playful and happy young man. He has also passed BH/VT exam and can thus start competing in IGP, BSL, FH and everything within that order. That makes us happy!

If all goes well, Gard will become father to a litter that will be born at Kennel Safeguardians around the middle of October in Finland. The litter is free of the defects Embark tests for and will have an average COI of 18%.
